Feel Slovenia in the historical, green Ljubljana!

After all the weekends in the mountains of Austria, we said to ourselves

it's time for a city trip, to get a taste of urban air again instead of mountain air.

So on Thursday we went to neighbouring Slovenia for 3 nights. To be exact,

to historical Ljubljana. With 293,000 inhabitants, it is one of the smallest European capitals. Around 50,000 students provide the city's youthful flair. It is also rightly said that the city has a green soul - in 2016 it was even awarded the title "Europe's Greenest Capital" with its countless green parks and other green areas.

I immediately fell in love with this picturesque city, whose cityscape has been shaped by various historical eras.

On the very first day we bought the Ljubljana Card to discover the best sights.

With it you can avoid annoying queues, use public transport and have access to over 20 attractions.

Here you can find more information about the 10 top attractions in Ljubljana that you should not miss!

But what should not be missing on a real city trip? Right, the perfect hotel for a carefree time!

Radisson Blu Plaza Ljubljana - the perfect starting point for our adventures

We chose Radisson Blu Plaza Ljubljana because of the good ratings and the location and we were not disappointed!

The hotel is a bit outside the center but to my wife's great pleasure the huge shopping city BTC with over 500 stores is within walking distance. The culture is not missed out either. The historical opera house and the beautiful park Tivoli are also only 4.5 km away and the historical city center can be easily reached by public transport or you go by taxi which is also very cheap.

The hotel got a special cooperation with Laguna Taxi so the ride just cost approximately € 9 per way.

We remember the breakfast particularly positively.

The varied selection of hot & cold dishes and the quality surprised us very much.

We had a nice Double room on the 9th floor and the view of the city was really magnificent. The rooms are modern and very clean and fully equipped with everything you need. I especially liked the tea & coffee facilities in the room.

The competent staff was always friendly and took great care of our well-being, we felt very welcome right away.

Also the modern fitness room is definitely a big advantage to get some exercise after all the good food :)

Well, did you now also feel like going on a city trip?

If yes, you can find more information about the hotel here:

*By invitation of Radisson Blu Plaza Ljubljana - my opinion remains unaffected by that.
