Bali Hotel Recommendations 2020

After 7 months break, in March 2020 we travelled to Bali again. It felt like coming home…

In 2019 we spent in total 3 months in this beautiful country, which made Bali a bit our second home. So it was mandatory for us going back again in 2020. I would like to share with you my hotel tips, in order to maybe make your decisions regarding hotels easier. The perfect start - Sandi Agung Villa Bidadari

Our first overnight stop was in Seminyak in the wonderful Sandi Agung Villa for three nights. They are located about 300 meters from the center of Seminyak and they are a perfect starting point for a Bali trip. They even provide an airport pick up free of charge which is awesome! We stayed in a beautiful, clean and spacious 1-bedroom villa with private pool and big outdoor area with kitchen and seating area. What we liked best is that breakfast is freshly prepared daily in your own kitchen. Summarized it is a small oasis that is very centrally located to the beaches, restaurants and shopping streets but although very quiet…

This place is magical - BoHo Canggu

We stayed there for 2 nights in March in a deluxe double room and loved everything about BoHo. This small boutique hotel is really a hidden gem in Canggu. At nights you hear nothing just the chirping of the crickets and the style of the whole facility is just amazing. We loved the bohemian chic and its simplicity - it’s really unique we guess. We also want to highlight the friendliness of the staff and the environmental awareness which is lived here and present all the time. You feel like home from the very first beginning and we can highly recommend a stay in this stylish and idyllic boutique hotel which is just 5 minutes driving away from the center of Canggu.

The unique equipment and architecture I liked the most. Therefore, it is a perfect venue for photo shootings etc. and currently still an insider tip in Canggu / Bali. So better hurry up before it is too crowded! Mungu an excellent alternative to Ubud - Annupuri Villas

If you want to immerse yourself in the nature of Bali far away from tourist flows, I can highly recommend Mungu. We stayed in a 2-bedroom Villa with private pool at the accommodation Annupuri Villas and stopped here for 3 days. They are located in a separated park area named Greenlot - about 18 minutes driving from Canggu. A peaceful and safe place for rest and relaxation. They got only 6 Villas and a public restaurant with a nice river view. From check-in to dinner, everything was perfectly organised. We loved our private big terrace facing the river and palm trees. From the bedroom you can directly step into the pool! At the afternoon you get free snacks and tea served in the villa and once we ordered the floating breakfast which was also very special.

I want to emphasize the hospitality and the perfect organization of the entire Annupuri team Luxury in solitude - The Tiing Tejakula Villas

If you want to experience Bali almost untouched and far from tourist crowds, you should take a taxi to Tejakula in the north. There are only a few, very good and high-quality hotels in this region. These hotels are very cheap compared to the tourist hot spots in south. We stayed 5 days in the The Tiing in a luxury Villa. This hotel got only 14 villas and even won a prize in 2019 for its special architecture. Tiing means bamboo in their local language and suggests already that bamboo was one of the key materials during construction. It is located directly at the beach front and our 1-bedroom villa was equipped with a private pool facing the jungle and a nice terrace with sea view. With its serene atmosphere this place it the right choice for honeymooners. Their pink infinity pool is definitely an eye catcher.

I loved the loneliness far away from the tourist hot spots. Just perfect to recharge your batteries and the traditional cooking class with the chef de cuisine was a highlight during our stay. In the up-and-coming Pererenan district - “Shore Amora”

The Hotel Shore Amore is located in the Pererenan district. The town of Pererenan has grown a lot with new hotels and restaurants in the last 2 years, it is still very quiet and very close to Canggu. The Shore Amora opened one year ago and is the best hotel in this area. It impresses with its hospitality and stylish furnished rooms and villas. For the last few days it was important for us to regain strength for everyday life therefore we choose once again a villa with a private pool facing a rice paddy.

I appreciate the quiet location and the modern design. Although it is very close to our favorite district of Canggu and of course just a few meters away from the beach.
