according to this motto we went to South Tyrol for the weekend.
There is hardly a better place to collect good memories than at the JOAS hotel**** in the tranquil San Candido, surrounded by the magnificent mountain scenery of the 3 Peaks in the Dolomite region.
By the way San Candido is a small municipality with only 3367 inhabitants in the South Tyrolean Pustertal Valley. The municipality borders on Austria to the east and north. Because of that fact it is just a 2 hours drive from my home town Zell am See and is therefore perfectly suited for a short trip
The location of the JOAS makes sports enthusiasts happy all year round (in winter even ski in & ski out) and serves as an ideal starting point for all adventurers or those who just want to wake up with a gorgeous mountain view and admire the panorama.
On the top floor there is a small, lovely wellness area with an imposing view of the Dolomites.
The best way to start the day is on the wonderful sun terrace with a delicious organic breakfast that really leaves nothing to be desired.

A visit to the 30 minutes drive away Lago di Braies was of course a must!
A really impressive mountain lake in the Braies valley that captivates with its wonderful green colour. It is part of the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park and rightly a protected natural monument.
What is the best way to explore
the Lago di Braies?
Right, by rowing boat of course.
A little tip on the side, best to visit it very early in the morning, otherwise you have to expect long waiting times and you won't get a parking place anymore!
It's a really hyped lake and it's getting very crowded the later you will arrive.
